Water Metering

Water Banner

We have completed the process of delivering a water metering programme for all of our non domestic (business) as part of the Government's Water Services Pricing Policy. Progress will continue as new non-domestic come on stream. This policy will ensure that all consumers will enjoy the benefit of a fair and equitable charging system, in that they will only pay for water they consume.
The charge will relate only to the non-domestic element of the water supply, Local Authorities are prohibited by law from charging for a domestic supply. Water users who have a domestic element will continue to benefit from a domestic allowance this will apply, for example, where a shop and living accommodation are in one premises.
In addition to introducing a fairer charging system, water metering will also help address the ongoing problem of water leakages. This is supported by the Water Conservation Project office which is based in Cashel.
Customers are advised to check all supply pipes from the public watermains as any leakage between the public watermain and your business etc. could result in a substantial increase in water charges. (note the meter is your property also).
